Welcome to the online home of the Iota Nu chapter of Graduate Women in Science.
Graduate Women in Science is an American non-profit organization established in 1921. Members work to promote women in science by bestowing grants, awards and fellowships while also holding annual national meetings. There are currently 22 chapters and Iota Nu (IN) is one of the younger, having been inaugurated on March 10, 2013. IN is the first and only international chapter. We have members on 6 continents. A newsletter is issued every 2 months that discusses the latest news and events. We reply heavily on social media to keep our members connected. We are working hard to give our members grant and fellowship opportunities to help them further their research.
Membership is available regardless of sex. In order to qualify as a member, you must hold at least a bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in a scientific discipline. IN is available to all scientists living outside the USA. For GWIS members living within the United States, dual membership is availabe if you would like to be involved in our chapter.
As we are a young chapter, we are continually developing our programs and visibility. We highly encourage our members to participate in funding opportunities which allow international travel, traning and research exchange. You can find a list of funding opportunities on our Fellowships and Grants Links page
